Lizz Winstead
An Evening of Political Satire w/ Lizz Winstead
PLUS A Reading From Her New Book!

Lizz Winstead returns to Trepany House where last time she and her comedy troupe, "Shoot The Messenger" played to sold out houses with their Off-Broadway hit, Wake Up World a scathing satire of Morning News Shows.

This time, Lizz flies solo on Trepany House stage for a night of some of the best political comedy in the country. This incredible satirist gives her brilliant take on all the latest news with an amazing razor sharp wit, which helped shape The Daily Show and Air America Radio.

Lizz's comedy is as up-to-the minute as the news itself. From the clown car of GOP hopefuls, to birth control and Obama, nothing and no one is exempt from her hilarious and scathing observations. If you are looking for a much needed catharsis from the madness of the world and feel like the state of our union is in quite a state, then Lizz Winstead is exactly what you are looking for.

And to make the evening even more special, Lizz will close out the night with a book reading and signing of her first collection of essays, Lizz Free Or Die, to be released May, 10th 2012. It is a droll and dark collection that has been called, "shrewdly observant, linguistically adept, bravely soul-baring,and caustically smart." Funny and biting, honest and poignant, this no-holds-barred collection gives an in-depth look into the life of one of today's most influential comic voices. In writing about her childhood longing to be a priest, her role in developing The Daily Show, and of her often problematic habit of diving into everything head first, asking questions later (resulting in multiple rescue-dog adoptions and travel disasters), Lizz Winstead has tapped an outrageous and heartfelt vein of the all-too-human comedy.

As one of the top female political satirists working today, this rare Los Angeles performance from Winstead will be an evening you will not want to miss.
